From people voting for him like crazy, to people burning his effigies with Ravana’s – this one here is going to make everybody’s jaws drop. Why Narendra Modi quit his wife? We know already that he got his marriage solemnised when still a teenager. He gave up on the marriage just then. We have assumed and heard, he did so as the age of marriage was inappropriate. But what if you found out that that was not the only reason he walked out of the marriage. Wanna know the reason, less spoken about.
He was motivated by what he had read of Swami Vivekanand’s works. Swami Vivekanand’s very famous quote – often found written in beautiful fonts on the study tables of students in North India, “Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached.” Mr. Modi motivated suo moto, wanted to serve the country and true – That he did. Be it going underground during the Emergency of 1975 or be it dedicating himself to Advaniji’s Rath Yatra during the late 80’s. CMship of Gujarat and the ongoing PMship are legendary tales already.
In 2009, in Open magazine media report, which was one of the early introductions to Jashodaben said that she was being observed and controlled by powerful people. I will not say anything against my husband. He is very powerful. This job is all I have to survive. I am afraid of the consequences. In a separate interview to Financial Express, Jashodaben said, “We parted on good terms as there were never any fights between us. There has been no communication from his end to this day. I didn’t feel bad for not being acknowledged by Modi, as his wife, for all these years”. She blamed their situation on destiny and bad times.
He was so influenced by Enlightened Master Vivekananda that he found his vocation in serving the nation only. He sure had luck with him after being influenced by an enlightened soul, he actually got the opportunity to be a disciple of World renowned ambassador of peace – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
He might be one of the best PM’s of the world however that does not make his crime of leaving his wife in the early times of their marriage. What he did was a self-centered single-sided decision that his wife was forced to follow.
Knowing all this, Jashodaben, Modi’s wife always supported him in his decision and chose not to make their solemnised marriage public. She chose to lead a normal honest life teaching in a government school throughout following her husband’s footprints of serving the community as a whole. But if reports are to be believed then the life Jashodaben has lived is a threatened one to just not touch even a bit of Narendra Modi’s image in public.
Well seems like things were pre-determined for him. But seriously how many people devote themselves to one thing – single pointedly as if they would squeeze every joule of their energy and give it to what they truly find valuable.
It is said in the tradition of trying to obtain salvation which is believed to be the highest goal of human life in the east, “service” remains a very important part of a seekers life. So, I guess we’ve solved the puzzle for ourselves – Narendra Modi, with his priory inclination, set himself up on this path and chose his “karambhoomi” in serving his nation.
This makes me think all the more highly of the leader of my nation, I take a little more pride today, in being an Indian.
